Name: Michael McMillan
Hometown: Vancouver, BC
Years on team: 2016

I grew up in the mountains of Northern BC in Smithers, where running and skiing is simply part of the culture. After high school I competed for UBC on the varsity cross-country ski team from 2003-2008, helping the team finish with a bronze medal in the 2008 National Championships. After graduating in 2008, I retired from competitive skiing and started racing triathlons and trail running. In 2014, I finished 19th overall (3rd place Canadian Amateur) at Ironman Canada and went on to race at the World Ironman Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Recently my focus has been more on mountain running, finishing with a first place at the 2015 5 peaks race in Squamish and 4th place finishes at the 2015 Knee Knacker 30 miler and Rubble Creek Classic 25km. When you don't find me out on the mountain, I can be found at UBC writing my PhD thesis in Geophysics.
