Friday, September 9 2016 - Canadian Team Arrives in Bulgaria |
The Canadian Mountain Running Team has arrived in Sapareva Banya, Bulgaria, for the 2016 World Mountain Running Championships. This year is an all up-hill course, starting at the foot of the Rila mountain range, the highest mountain range in the Balkans. The junior men and senior women will be taking on a 7.3km course with 700 meters of climb, while the senior men will face 12.5k with 1390m of climb.
36 different countries will have runners at the start line, a total of 145 senior men, 73 senior women, and 65 junior men. Among them will be a strong Canadian contingent, with a full team of men, women, and junior men!
